I’m a results-based educator and executive coach with expertise in helping executives, leaders, individuals and organizations, achieve their full potential through honest, dynamic communications, and strategic guidance and execution.
I’ve traveled to and conducted research in over 100 countries and I’ve seen the toxic effects of unhealthy work environments. Many times people spend more time at work than with their families. I understand that healthy individuals foster healthy communities, and workspaces. We all benefit when we create caring communities: decreased absenteeism and turnover, increased retention, engagement, morale, productivity and profits.
I reside in the Chicagoland area. I have a wonderful husband and am the loving mother of two children and a shih tzu. I love laughing, and making others laugh; spending time with my family; dancing like it’s 1999; gardening; speaking Spanish, traveling globally; rehabbing real estate; dressing up and going to fancy open houses; cruising and being near the ocean.

Hi, I'm Dr. Chela,

I’ve gone from being a door-to-door bookseller to writing books; from being a community health educator to running health organizations. I earned my PhD in Human Ecology with a concentration in Health Disparities within the Latino and African Diaspora; my Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelors in Spanish and Business Administration. I’ve been a longstanding advocate for those that are marginalized because I know what it feels like to be disenfranchised. I’ve worked for over 25 years in for-profits and non-profits to develop scalable strategies to improve employee morale, decrease absenteeism and increase desired outputs by effectively engaging staff. I specialize in helping organizations align their business outcomes with their social responsibility in order to build staff trust, inclusion and engagement.
